Westin Hotel Takes Sleep to the Next Level

The Westin Hotel chain has long been known for its Heavenly Bed, a trademarked bit of branding that long preceded the present sleep-conscious trend. To mark the fifteen anniversary of the introduction of the Heavenly Bed, the chain is introducing a new level of sleep servicing with the announcement of a partnership with Lark Technologies to create a Sleep Sensor Wearable-Lending program for guests at certain Westin properties. The program is part of Westin’s year-long Well-Being Movement. The wearable lending program will be rolled out at the Westin New York at Times Square, as well as properties in Singapore, Dubai, Frankfurt, Cape Town, Sydney, Abu Dhabi and Milan. Guests will be invited to test a variety of new technologies, including the Lark Up Sleep Monitor, Silent Alarm Clock and Personal Sleep Coach. All of these devices are part of the wearable technology that Lark has produced to allow hotel guests to get the best night’s sleep possible. It offers sleep pattern tracking as well as virtual coaching, all in line with the better night’s sleep that the chain has long offered with its Heavenly Bed. In addition to the technology itself, Westin is also introducing Lark’s founder, Julia Hu, to the Westin Well Being Council, a group of health and behavior experts that are leading the organization’s Sleep Well effort. Partnering with Lark Technologies will allow Westin guests to achieve their best sleep through a series of personalized coaching tips rooted in science. This is a milestone and a great example of knowledge being power when it comes to promoting a foundational aspect of well-being: sleep.” Westin made a name for itself as an industry innovator long ago when it came to sleep. Their introduction of the Heavenly Bed set the company apart. They promise the “best night’s sleep on the road, at home, and in the air,” and after establishing themselves in that niche they have committed to constantly striving for improvement in this arena. Their partnership with Lark, a software company that specializes in health and wellbeing, provides a new way to use exercise, sleep, nutrition and motivational science together on behalf of their guests. According to Julia Hu, founder of Lark Technologies, that is the driving force behind their brand as well. “Sleeping better, as a part of getting fitter and stressing less, has been a big focus of mine and the Lark Health Committee Our world class Health Committee has been working closely with our product team to design our product experiences, and we are now excited to be a part of the Westin Sleep Well campaign so that guests have the opportunity to start the day off right, happier and healthier
